Process Supervisor

Summary

The primary role of the Process Supervisor is to assist with coordinating all

thermoforming processes, mold packages and set up related activities. The Process

Supervisor is responsible for maintaining thermoforming processes, set-ups and

robotics.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Attend all engineering meetings (Kick-off, concept review, design review, error proof, crisis or mitigation meetings, etc.…) be the voice of manufacturing
  • Assist manufacturing process operation parameters according to specifications found through sampling. Collaborate with Engineering to develop new tooling and processes
  • Review daily manufacturing needs and assign duties to the set up and process crew and to Robot Lead to best fit with immediate needs
  • Assist with ETO and MTO estimations. Must provide… best machine, cycle rate, labor, set up time and reject rates. Basing off existing historical data or similar/like product.
  • Attend QEC meeting, review estimations with the committee.
  • Prepare month end variance summary. Explaining issues and rectifications for future improvement
  • Assist with development of training documentation and implementation programs
  • Out of control process troubleshooting and mitigation planning
  • Assist maintenance with troubleshooting process and mechanical issues
  • Assist production floor with the start-up of new production orders
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance
  • Perform all duties within regulatory requirements and company policies & procedures
  • Perform other job duties and assignments as requested or as business needs require
  • Assist with tracking employee attendance and PTO coverage
  • Identify and put plans/processes in place for proactive improvements regarding manufacturing product struggles
  • Confer with Engineering and Production personnel to clarify or resolve problems with process
  • Coordinate the information flow regarding Tooling between departments
  • Perform all duties in compliance with regulatory requirements as well as company policies and procedures

Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervises employees with process, set-up and jig & fix areas. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Two-year degree or certificate in plastics processing from a college or technical school; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledgeable in the basic functions of thermoforming machinery and able to monitor and adjust when needed during operation to optimize production output

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described in this section are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee will spend time in the office and production areas.

The production area temperatures can fluctuate significantly based on the time of year. The noise levels can be moderate to high. The use of hearing protection and safety eyewear is required while on production floor. The use of additional specific safety equipment may be required. The noise level in the office is usually quiet. The noise level in production is usually moderate.

Work Availablity And Travel

Must have the ability to work all shift schedules, periodic overtime and be available for periodic weekend work.
